  68. EASI-PLAN Lite is a powerful easy-to-use software package which
  69. enables new and mid-size businesses to prepare fully-integrated and
  70. comprehensive 3-year financial projections for business plans & budgets,
  71. raising finance, strategic planning, forecasting, appraisals etc.
  72.  
  73. It can also be used by professional advisers, consultants, training
  74. organisations and financial institutions. EASI-PLAN Lite is aimed
  75. at businesses, with annual sales in the range 250k to 2 million
  76. pounds/dollars, engaged in manufacturing, distribution or services. Its
  77. reports are pre-formatted to suit either sole traders or limited
  78. companies.

  80. Based on a user's forecasts and assumptions, EASI-PLAN compiles
  81. integrated financial projections (P&Ls, cashflows, balance sheets
  82. & ratios) for one year ahead on a monthly basis and, in less
  83. detail, for a further two years on a quarterly basis. It produces
  84. numerous management and financial reports together with graphs
  85. for many key variables which can be displayed on the screen or
  86. printed. It also produces reports detailing all the underlying
  87. assumptions.

  89. EASI-PLAN incorporates facilities for graphing key results; for
  90. undertaking 'what-if' analysis; for preparing 'first-cut'
  91. three-year projections; generating a textual summary report; doing
  92. selective or global sensitivity analysis; drilling down to underlying
  93. assumptions; exporting the model to a spreadsheet; rolling forward
  94. projections a month at a time.

  96. EASI-PLAN is very suitable for users with limited or no prior
  97. experience of computers or financial planning as well as for more
  98. experienced users who do not wish to go to the very considerable
  99. trouble, or waste valuable time, developing their own planning
  100. system on a spreadsheet.

  102. Other versions, called EASI-PLAN Micro and Pro, for smaller and larger
  103. businesses respectively are also available. Their file names are

  106. EASI-PLAN is very friendly and menu-driven with extensive "on-line"
  107. context-sensitive help.

  109. EASI-PLAN is an internationally useful product. The layout of its
  110. reports and accounts are based on UK conventions. Its currency
  111. symbol can be altered by a user.

  113. The supplied software is 'shareware'. In return for registering, a user
  114. receives the latest fully-operational version of EASI-PLAN with a 160+
  115. page A5 spiral-bound printed manual (incorporating extensive tutorial
  116. exercises etc.) and full support. Further details are contained in the

  152. The exact installation steps you should take will depend on how you
  153. received EASI-PLAN.
  154.  
  155. Installing from Diskettes
  156. -------------------------
  157. To install from diskette(s), you need to perform the following steps.
  158.  
  159.    o  Place the EASI-PLAN distribution diskette "Disk 1" in the
  160.    appropriate diskette drive.
  161.  
  162.    o  Follow the instructions presented by the installation program. The
  163.    program will ask you for a destination sub-directory, and will copy
  164.    the EASI-PLAN files to that sub-directory. If you are given the
  165.    choice, call the directory EASIL3. If you received EASI-PLAN on two
  166.    diskettes, you will need to insert Disk 2 in the diskette drive when
  167.    asked to do so.

  169. Installing from a Hard disk
  170. ---------------------------
  171. If you downloaded EASI-PLAN via the Internet, from a BBS (or received it
  172. in the form of archive files from some other source), you will need to
  173. perform the following steps.
  174.  
  175.    o  Extract the contents of the archive file(s) to a new sub-directory
  176.    on your hard drive. The suggested name for this sub-directory is
  177.    EASIL3.
  178.    The procedure for doing this varies, depending on the format in which
  179.    you received the package. In all likelihood, the fact that you are
  180.    reading this text means that you already have the necessary tools and
  181.    knowledge to perform this step.  If not, you should be able to obtain
  182.    directions for this from the same source from which you received the
  183.    package.
  184.  
  185. EASI-PLAN Lite needs 560k, or more, of 'free' conventional memory (not
  186. extended memory). This should not present any problem to the vast
  187. majority of users as it is well within the capacity of most PCs with 640k
  188. of RAM unless they have been specially configured etc.

  190. If a problem is encountered when loading EASI-PLAN, refer to the Section
  191. dealing with Securing More Memory in the README.TXT file.

  194. ====== Running EASI-PLAN =================================

  196. The following guidelines assume that you have already installed (i.e.
  197. copied, unzipped, unarchived, uncompressed etc.) the complete set of
  198. EASI-PLAN files onto a hard disk.

  200.      a) Get into the sub-directory where you have installed
  201.         all EASI-PLAN's files. For example, if the sub-directory
  202.         EASIL3 was used, type "CD EASIL3" and press RETURN at the
  203.         DOS prompt.
  204.  
  205.      b) Type "GO" to access an introductory menu system. If your
  206.         PC uses a very old type of display, do not select this
  207.         option choose c) or d) instead.

  251. copyright throughout the world.

  253. After a free initial 30-day trial period, every user who wishes to
  254. continue using EASI-PLAN must make a registration payment to the author,
  255. Invest-Tech. If you do not register, you must stop using EASI-PLAN after
  256. the trial period.

  258. Once registered, EASI-PLAN is licensed for use, without any time
  259. restriction, on one computer or at one network node by the registered
  260. user.  In return for registering, you will also receive a copy of the
  261. latest fully-operational version of EASI-PLAN with its printed manual. In
  262. addition, you gain access to support by mail, phone, fax or e-mail for
  263. three calendar months following confirmation of registration by
  264. Invest-Tech. After this period, the provision of support will be at
